Campaign Story
Every day, someone makes the brave decision to leave abuse behind. But for many survivors, escaping violence is only the beginning. Without an income, without employable skills, and often with children to care for, many women face an impossible choice: start over with nothing or return to the environment that caused them harm. At the Community Intervention Centre (CIC), we have been walking alongside survivors of gender-based violence for more than 25 years. We provide a safe place, trauma counselling, crisis intervention, and hope to individuals and families when they need it most. Over the years, we have learned something important: Safety alone is not enough. A survivor who has no way to earn a living remains vulnerable. Financial dependence is one of the biggest reasons many survivors struggle to rebuild their lives. That is why we created From Survivor to Provider. This programme equips survivors with practical, income-generating skills such as basic computer training, sewing, crafts, and entrepreneurship. More than learning a trade, participants rebuild their confidence, discover their strengths, and gain the tools to support themselves and their families with dignity. Imagine a woman who arrives at our centre feeling broken and uncertain about the future. Months later, she leaves with new skills, renewed confidence, and the ability to earn an income. She can provide for her children, make decisions for herself, and build a future free from abuse. This transformation is possible because people like you choose to care. Your donation will help us provide training materials, sewing equipment, computers, qualified facilitators, mentorship, and ongoing support for survivors taking their first steps toward independence. When you give, you are not simply funding a training programme. You are helping a survivor regain her confidence. You are helping a mother provide for her family. You are helping break the cycle of gender-based violence. You are investing in a future where survivors are empowered to thrive, not just survive. Together, we can turn survivors into providers. Donate today and help build lives filled with dignity, opportunity, and hope.
