Campaign Story
Back-to-School Stationery Support Campaign Every Child Deserves the Tools to Learn, Dream and Succeed Education is one of the most effective ways to break the cycle of poverty, but thousands of children begin each school year without the basic stationery they need to learn. For many families in Meadowlands, Soweto, purchasing exercise books, pens, pencils, school bags, mathematical sets, calculators and other essential learning materials is simply beyond their financial means. BBOKAMOSO Skills Development Projects is a registered South African nonprofit organisation (NPO Registration No. 228-623, PBO Reference No. 930071634, Section 18A Approved) committed to empowering children, youth, women and vulnerable communities through education, skills development, entrepreneurship, food security, environmental sustainability and community development. Working from eMpumalanga Primary School and in partnership with Rishile Lower Primary School and Thobeka Primary School, we see the daily impact that poverty has on children's education. Many learners attend school eager to learn but without the stationery required to participate fully in classroom activities. Some share books and pens with classmates, while others miss homework because they simply do not have the materials needed to complete their schoolwork. A lack of basic stationery affects more than academic performance. It reduces learners' confidence, limits participation in class, and places additional pressure on teachers who already work tirelessly to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through our Back-to-School Stationery Support Campaign, BBOKAMOSO aims to provide essential stationery packs to 300 vulnerable learners across our partner schools. Each stationery pack will help equip learners with the resources they need to participate fully in their education and build a strong foundation for future success. Funds raised through this campaign will be used to purchase essential educational supplies, including: Exercise books Pens and pencils Erasers and sharpeners Rulers Colouring pencils and crayons Mathematical sets Calculators (where required) School bags Educational resources and other learning materials Your support will help us: Equip 600 vulnerable learners with essential stationery. Improve school readiness and classroom participation. Reduce educational barriers caused by poverty. Improve learner confidence, attendance and academic performance. Support teachers by ensuring learners have the resources needed to learn effectively. Give children the opportunity to focus on learning rather than worrying about basic school supplies. As a registered Public Benefit Organisation with Section 18A approval, BBOKAMOSO is committed to transparency, accountability and measurable impact. Every donation received will directly support learners in our partner schools, with regular updates provided to donors on the progress and outcomes of the campaign. Education begins with opportunity, and opportunity often begins with something as simple as a pen, a notebook or a school bag. By supporting this campaign, you are investing in children's futures, strengthening communities and helping create pathways out of poverty through education. Together, we can ensure that no child is left behind because they cannot afford the basic tools needed to learn. Thank you for partnering with BBOKAMOSO Skills Development Projects and helping us open doors through education—one learner, one stationery pack and one brighter future at a time.
