National Women's Day Feeding Scheme Programme Date: 09 August 2026 Location: Emabhuyeni, Ward 7, uMfolozi Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa Background and Community Need National Women's Day is an opportunity to honour the strength, resilience and sacrifices of women. In Emabhuyeni, many women face daily challenges of unemployment, poverty, hunger and the responsibility of caring for children and elderly family members without sufficient income. Many households survive on social grants, while others go days without nutritious meals. Single mothers often skip meals so their children can eat, and many grandmothers raising orphaned grandchildren struggle to provide food due to rising living costs. Elderly women and vulnerable children are among the hardest hit by food insecurity. Through this Women's Day Feeding Scheme, Emphemeni Community Development aims to restore hope and dignity by providing nutritious hot meals, food parcels and essential support to vulnerable women, children and senior citizens in our community. If We Receive Donations All donations will be used solely for the implementation of the Women's Day programme. Distribution of Funds 60% – Purchase of food for hot meals and food parcels. 20% – Fresh vegetables, fruit and nutritious beverages. 10% – Hygiene and cleaning supplies for safe food preparation and serving. 5% – Transport and logistics for collecting donations and delivering supplies. 5% – Event materials, beneficiary registration and programme administration. Monitoring and Accountability Emphemeni Community Development is committed to transparency and responsible management of all donations through: Recording every donation received. Keeping receipts and financial records for all purchases. Registering beneficiaries who receive meals or food parcels. Monitoring food preparation and distribution by programme coordinators and volunteers. Preparing a financial and impact report after the event. Sharing photographs, beneficiary stories.
