Dignity in Her Hands Women's Month Campaign

We are Kharifarane NPO a youth-led non-profit based in Port Elizabeth , Eastern Cape (NPO Reg: 320-050), founded by students who grew up seeing the same struggles play out in our own communities: Motherwell, Kwazakhele, New Brighton, and Zwide. What happened: In August 2025, we launched Dignity in Her Hands and managed to uplifted 1000+ people, after realizing something simple but devastating over 30% of girls in our communities miss school every month because they can’t afford sanitary pads. Not because they’re sick. Not because they don’t want to learn. Because of something as basic as access to menstrual hygiene products. In a region where youth unemployment already exceeds 40%, losing days of school over something so preventable felt unacceptable to us So every week, our volunteers walk into schools carrying sanitary pads, hygiene packs, and stationery, reaching over 200 learners so far. We’ve already secured hygiene products through donor support but we need help completing full learner packs (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, school bags) and expanding to more schools who are asking for our help. This Women’s Month, we’re asking you to stand with us. Every donation keeps a girl in her classroom instead of at home, embarrassed and falling behind. Our goal for 2026 is to reach 500 learners with 90% improved school attendance. How your donation helps: • R50 = a month’s supply of sanitary pads for one learner • R150 = a full hygiene pack (pads, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste) • R300 = hygiene pack + school stationery for one learner • Any amount – goes directly toward supplies distributed weekly, with full transparency through our quarterly reports Dignity shouldn’t be a privilege.
