Campaign Story
'In Ward 14, Masotsheni, a school assignment shouldn't require a 20 kilometre journey" Every day in the rural Masotsheni Area, bright students and ambitious job seekers hit a digital brick wall. While the rest of world clicks a button to submit a job application or research a school project, the community of Ward 14 is left behind. Without a single computer, printer, or internet connection, the future of our youth is restricted by geography. The Mercy Shumi Foundation is changing this narrative. We need your support to raise R150, 000 on Givio to build Masotsheni's very first Basic IT Lab. How We Will Spend the R150,000 R65,000: Purchasing 6-7 reliable, refurbished computer workstations and licensing. R25,000: Buying a heavy-duty, multi-function commercial printer and scanner. R25,000: Installing a solar power back-up system to beat local load-shedding. R20,000: Securing 12 months of high-speed satellite internet data. R15,000: Outfitting the room with secure burglar bars and durable computer desks. How Your Donation Makes Impact R200: Buys paper and ink for 500 student assignments. R500: Funds high-speed internet connectivity for the hub for two weeks. R1500: Covers the cost of multi-user study desk and chairs. R9,500: Fully sponsors one complete computer workstation for the lab. The Lasting Change Your contribution bridges the digital divide. By reaching our R150, 000 goal, we are not just buying hardware. We are giving a student the tools to pass their matric exams, an entrepreneur the means to type a business plan, and an entire rural community a fair shot at the modern economy. Bring the digital world to Ward 14, Masotsheni Area, Nquthu Local Municipailty, KwaZulu-Natal. Donate to the Mercy Shumi Foundation NPC on GIVIO platform today.
